The business of physical AI.

Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms govern your use of Deploy (the “Service”), operated by Ben Smith. By reading the site, subscribing to the newsletter, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

Acceptable use

You may read Deploy, share links to individual signals, quote short excerpts with attribution, and subscribe to the newsletter. You may not:

  • Scrape the Service at a rate that interferes with normal operation, or republish whole signals or issues without permission.
  • Use the Service to train commercial AI models without prior written agreement. Indexing for search, citation, and summary in answer engines is permitted.
  • Attempt to gain access to private surfaces (the operator admin, scheduled-but-unpublished drafts) or otherwise probe the Service for vulnerabilities outside coordinated disclosure.
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited messages, harass other readers, or violate applicable law.

Editorial content and copyright

All editorial content on Deploy — signal headlines, factual summaries, editorial notes, issues, explainers, glossary definitions, comparisons, and original analysis — is the copyrighted work of Ben Smith / Deploy unless explicitly credited otherwise.

Linking to Deploy URLs is welcome and requires no permission. Quoting short excerpts (a sentence or two) with attribution and a link back to the original signal or issue is also welcome. Republishing entire pieces, mirroring the site, or using Deploy’s content as a derivative work in a competing publication requires advance written permission — email ben@deploy.report.

Third-party material referenced or quoted within Deploy (source articles, public claims, photographs, video stills) remains the property of its original holders and is used here under fair use for editorial commentary.

Subscriber data

When you subscribe, we collect and store your email address to deliver the Friday issue. We do not sell, share, or rent subscriber data. The full data-handling description is in our Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any Deploy email or by contacting ben@deploy.report.

No warranties

Deploy is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work hard to be factually accurate and editorially honest, but we don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate in every particular. Coverage reflects information available at the time of publication; the world changes, and articles may become outdated.

Deploy is editorial commentary, not investment advice, legal advice, or operational guidance for safety-critical systems. Don’t make trading, hiring, regulatory, or deployment decisions based solely on what you read here.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deploy and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Total liability for any claim is limited to $100 or the amount you paid for the Service in the preceding 12 months, whichever is greater. The Service is provided free of charge unless you’ve separately contracted for a paid arrangement.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or operational practice. Material changes will be noted by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change indicates acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
