Agility's Digit clears 100,000 totes at GXO Flowery Branch: the first scaled-operations data point for commercial humanoid robots-as-a-service

Agility Robotics' Digit humanoid has moved more than 100,000 totes at GXO Logistics' Flowery Branch, Georgia distribution center, performing live fulfillment tasks: picking totes from autonomous mobile robots, loading items onto conveyors, and stacking containers across floor locations. The deployment runs under the industry-first multi-year Robots-as-a-Service agreement Agility and GXO signed earlier in the partnership, making this the first commercial humanoid RaaS deployment to produce scaled-operations data and the first published throughput figure of its kind from any humanoid maker.

Why it matters

Digit at GXO is the working counter-example to the verified-vs-claimed pattern that anchors recent humanoid coverage. Tesla's We, Robot demonstrations were teleoperated and framed as autonomous; 1X opened NEO pre-orders with teleoperation disclosed as the path to consumer rollout. Both signals are about how makers describe their work. The 100,000-tote figure is about whether the work happens. The number itself is the editorial argument: real cycles, in a paying customer's facility, under a contracted service model, generating throughput data that can be modeled rather than claimed.

For operators evaluating where humanoids actually shift cost-per-unit math today, GXO Flowery Branch is the cleanest available data point. The contract structure matters as much as the count. Figure AI announced on November 19, 2025 that its Figure 02 humanoid robots had contributed to the production of more than 30,000 BMW X3 vehicles at BMW Group's Spartanburg, South Carolina plant during an 11-month live-production deployment. The robots ran 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday, accumulating 1,250 hours of runtime and handling more than 90,000 parts in chassis assembly tasks, with Repairer Driven News reporting the operational scope and BMW's path from August 2024 pilot through full live-production launch. The implication for operators evaluating humanoid commercial readiness is that the verification bar for "deployed in production" should be end-product OEM acceptance, not robot-cycle metrics alone.
