BYD will pay for crashes on its FSD competitor, something Tesla never has

Source: Electrek

BYD announced on May 28 at its vehicle intelligence strategy event that it will assume full, uncapped financial liability for at-fault crashes occurring while its "God's Eye" A and B urban navigate-on-autopilot systems are active in China, covering vehicle repairs, third-party property damage, and personal injury for one year from delivery without raising the owner's insurance premium. The guarantee extends a similar July 2025 pledge for L4 smart parking, applies across BYD's lineup via a God's Eye 5.0 OTA update, and sits on a LiDAR-equipped God's Eye B option priced at 12,000 yuan (about $1,770) versus Tesla's 64,000 yuan ($9,400) Supervised FSD in China.
